About Sigang Elementary School
Sigang Elementary School is a special school way down in the southwest part of Dacheng Township in Taiwan. Imagine the big Changhua Plain, and our school is right at the very edge, close to where the Zhuoshui River meets the ocean. We're also super close to the Taiwan Strait, which is a huge body of water! Because of where we are, our school is known as a place "where the water ends and the wind begins" – it's a bit windy and far out, but that makes it unique!

Our History
Our school started a long, long time ago in 1930. Back then, it was just a small part of another big school. But in 1941, it became its own school called "Sigang National School." Then, in 1968, when Taiwan started a new rule about going to school for nine years, our name changed to Sigang Elementary School, which is what it's still called today!
Something important happened on August 1, 2021. Another school nearby, Dingzhuang Elementary, closed down. All the kids from that school came to learn at Sigang Elementary, and we were so happy to have them!

Our school has a special dream for all our students. We want everyone to learn to be humanistic (kind to others), ecological (care about nature), sincere (honest and true), and studious (love to learn).
We want you to be the most important part of your learning! We hope to teach you a special way of thinking: "Life is Good!" We want to help you understand yourself and other people, learn to care about our community and the environment around us. We also want you to be excited to learn new things and be ready for anything that comes your way. We want you to keep learning and growing your whole life!

關於西港國小
西港國小是一所很特別的學校，它在臺灣大城鄉的西南邊。想像一下，一大片彰化平原，我們的學校就在最旁邊，靠近濁水溪出海口的地方。而且，我們離臺灣海峽也很近，那是一大片海喔！因為我們的地理位置，學校被稱為「風頭水尾」的地方——這裡風比較大，位置也比較偏遠，但這也讓它很獨特！

我們的學校在很久很久以前，1930年就創立了。那時候，它只是另一所大學校的一小部分。不過在1941年，它就變成了一所獨立的學校，叫做「西港國民學校」。後來，在1968年，當臺灣開始實施九年國民教育時，我們的校名就改成了西港國民小學，一直沿用到現在！
在2021年8月1日，發生了一件重要的事情。附近另一所學校，頂庄國小停辦了。那裡的學生都來西港國小上學了，我們非常開心能有他們加入！
