Active End of Semester: Hiking, Cleaning, and Cultural Fun at Sigang!
On January 20, 2026, students at Sigang Elementary School had an exciting end to the semester! Everyone joined a long-distance hike to the Dingzhuang campus, exploring our community and getting some fresh air. Once there, students worked together to clean up the campus and protect our environment.
The fun didn't stop there! We also held a Min Nan (Hokkien) Singing Competition and enjoyed fun riddles and idioms. It was wonderful to hear the students sing and see them learn about their local culture through games. It was a perfect day of exercise and learning, creating great memories for everyone!
115年1月20日，西港國小的孩子們在學期尾聲動了起來！全校師生大手牽小手，一路健走至頂庄校區，在活動筋骨的同時，也透過雙腳深入認識學校所在的社區。抵達目的地後，大家隨即展現服務精神，分工合作打掃環境，讓校園煥然一新。
除了體能與環保行動，現場更舉辦了充滿熱情的閩南語歌唱比賽、猜謎及歇後語活動。同學們不僅唱出優美旋律，在猜謎環節更是踴躍搶答。這種動靜結合的學習方式，讓孩子們在笑聲中自然地親近母語文化，為這個學期畫下一個圓滿且充滿回憶的句點！

Little Builders: Sigang Students Experience Architecture at Yuandou
On December 30, 2025, senior students from Sigang Elementary School visited the Yuandou Career Center. They joined a special class called "Let’s Build a House: Bricklaying" to learn about architecture and construction.
With the help of Teacher Chang, students practiced how to stack small bricks. They learned to keep the bricks straight and steady. It looked easy, but the students found out it took a lot of focus and patience. This hands-on class helped them understand the basic skills of building.
Through this activity, our students learned that every job is professional and hard work. They now respect the people who build our homes and cities. This trip helped them think about their future jobs and learn new things outside the classroom!
114年12月30日，為了讓學生深入了解職業試探教育，西港國小 (Sigang Elementary School) 高年級同學前往「原斗職業試探與體驗示範中心」，參加土木與建築職群的「蓋房子囉－砌磚」體驗課程。透過親手實作，孩子們近距離認識了建築工程的基礎工法。
課程中，在 張瀞方老師 的細心指導下，同學們使用小磚塊代替真實磚材進行練習。從精準的磚塊排列、拿捏水平與垂直的平衡，到穩定堆疊的技巧，每一個步驟都考驗著大家的專注力與耐心。實際操作後，孩子們才發現看似簡單的動作，背後其實蘊含著大大學問。
透過這次實作，同學們不僅學會了砌磚的基本技法，更深刻體會到建築與土木專業的辛勞與嚴謹。大家深刻感受到，每一項職業背後都代表著專業知識與努力付出，值得被尊敬與肯定。這場職探之旅不僅拓展了孩子們對未來職涯的想像，更為校園職業教育增添了豐富而有意義的一課。

Santa is at Xigang Elementary School!
Today is Christmas Eve! Our Principal, Mr. Chuang, had a big surprise for everyone. He dressed up as Santa Claus in a red and white suit.
Principal Chuang and the kindergarten kids visited every classroom. They played the song "Jingle Bells." The little kids sang and danced happily. Principal Chuang gave small gifts to all the teachers and students.
Everyone shouted, "Merry Christmas!" The school was full of joy and sweet voices. Principal Chuang said, "We want to share love and kindness with everyone."
It was a wonderful day! We hope everyone has a happy 2025 and a great New Year!
今天是聖誕前夕！我們的莊校長給了大家一個大驚喜。他換上紅白相間的衣服，打扮成了聖誕老公公。
莊校長帶著幼兒園的小朋友們，走遍了校園裡的每一間教室。他們播放著《叮叮噹》的歌，小朋友們也開心地唱歌跳舞。莊校長還送給全校的老師和學生們精美的小禮物。
大家大聲地喊著：「聖誕快樂！」 校園裡到處充滿了歡笑聲與甜美的歌聲。莊校長說：「我們希望能把愛與善意分享給每一個人。」
這真是美好的一天！我們希望大家在 2025 年都能過得開心，並擁有一個快樂的新年！
